We provide certified Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) suicide prevention training to equip individuals, schools, camps, after-school programs, clubs, and organizations with the skills to identify, support, and guide young people in crisis.
Our Training Programs
QPR gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Certification
QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is an evidence-based suicide prevention training developed by the QPR Institute, that provides the tools to recognize suicidal warning signs and take action.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) Certification
A nationally recognized 8-hour certification course that teaches adults how to assist youth ages 12-18 who are experiencing a mental health challenge, crisis, or substance use disorder.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to recognize verbal, behavioral, and situational warning signs
- How to ask the right questions to assess suicide risk
- How to persuade someone to seek help and connect them with resources
- How to offer HOPE
- Know how to access local and national referral resources
What You’ll Learn:
- Recognize the signs of anxiety, depression, and trauma in youth
- Respond with confidence using the 5-step MHFA Action Plan
- Provide early intervention and reduce stigma
- Connect young people to professional help and resources
Certification Details:
- Participants receive a QPR Gatekeeper Certificate valid for 1 year.
- Training can be completed in 60-90 minutes.
Certification Details:
- Upon completion, participants receive a 3-year Mental Health First Aider certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
- Available in in-person or virtual formats.
